22: Do Something Day of Action

As the Obamas often say: “Don’t complain—do something.” And that something is happening on Saturday, November 2, the last Saturday before Election Day. For months, many of us have been tuned into this election, but others haven’t been paying attention and this weekend is our last chance to get them ready to vote.

Whether it’s texting, phone banking, door knocking, or reaching out to friends, everyone has to do SOMETHING today. Point people in WI to myvote.wi.gov and everyone else can find info about voting at iwillvote.com.

At Motherhood for Good, we believe in raising the next generation of voters. Take some time to read to your kids about voting and democracy—they should know why you’ve been working so hard and what kind of future you’re fighting for! Instead of Goodnight Moon, I’d much rather read some non-fiction called Goodbye Electoral College—but since that’s not available (yet!), we’ve put together a list of our favorite stories about democracy, great leaders, and our country. Check it out and share these important lessons with the little ones!

24: Get the job done!

You’ve worked hard reaching out to voters—now it’s time to make sure they’ve followed through! Today’s action is to confirm that the people you contacted actually voted. You can check their voter status in Ripple or Reach, and channel your inner Olivia Pope to help voters fix any issues they are encountering! Route people to 866-VOTE-WIS if they encounter any issues. If folks you hear from are voting on Election Day, ask them to text you a picture as proof they made it to the polls—because who doesn’t love a good accountability check, right? Let’s make sure we get the job done—all the way done.

25: VOTE!

All our hard work has brought us to this day - if you haven’t yet - get out and VOTE! If you have voted, look for ways to help get folks to the polls and remind folks if they are in line after polls close they can still vote!
